Reflect on a time when you performed really well
Assignment 1: Reflect on a time when you performed really well - a time when you impressed yourself with your own performance. Whether it was at work or at home, a presentation that was well received, tiling your bathroom, organizing a charity event, or running a marathon, think about what you did to set yourself up for that successful performance. How did you prepare or train for it? What skills did you have at the start? Did you need to learn new skills to succeed? If so, what were they? What research did you complete that contributed to your high performance? Write about your preparations in your blog and submit the URL to your post here.
How did you prepare or train for it?
My definition of "luck" is being in the right place at the right time and knowing what to do with the opportunity. I have had to work hard use my talent of perception of indicators as to changing times. Learning to ask questions while respecting the opinions of others. After being in the self-employed service business for 20 years I learn the art of customer service and negotiations. I had my real estate license for 9 years and learned the laws but experience a number of closings. In that time period I also was looking at the medical field and this was a time 2007, when markets were high, but I knew there was a change coming.
Did you need to learn new skills to succeed?
I had no background in the health industry and really did not know if I would like it. I was 55 years old at that time. I talked with a lot of nurses and they said, start with being and testing for a CNA (Certified nursing assistant). This required classroom, clinical, and mentor-ship.
What research did you complete that contributed to your high performance?
I was what is called a "traveler". My assignments, took me to over 75 different facilities including Hospitals, Assisting Living and Nursing homes. I realized how significant the health care industry was and that there was a huge gap between management and health care workers.
My success is about to be realized in a Heath Care Management degree completion with Bellevue by my finishing this course and 5 credits.
BUMOOC.
